Votre Anglais est plus mieux de ma Francais!

J'etudier Francais dans l'ecole, il y a vingt ans.

Je ne sais pas comme etrange est ma Francais...excusez-moi!

But I think the French find it fun to speak in English while the English find it fun to try to speak in French.

g Cowing"]My French is not very good. I hope everyone will forgive me.

My name is Craig Cowing and I live in New York State (not the city). I am 48 and am the pastor of a small protestant church in a small town. I have a cello that belonged to my grandfather. It has been in my family for over a century. It was made by Jérôme THIBOUVILLE-LAMY in Mirecourt with the trademark name "Mi Fin." It dates from around 1895. I'd be happy to hear from anyone in the group!

Merci!

Hi Craig,
if you read this, could you give us some news?
I think it is a great to share with foreigners and also cellist-foreigners!
see you.

I'm just so pleased to have found you all.

I'm marooned in very rural France and so far, haven't found any other cellists.

I'm in Pays de Loire. Anyone nearby?

Reading through your tuition request message, I guess you might live somewhere around Chateaubriant (close to Nantes, Rennes, and Angers). I don't know if you you had positive answers, but please know that in Rennes, you will find a little kernel of very active forumists including cellotonic, juliecello, octave, and myself.

Please contact us through MP if you happen to come and visit our city.

Thanks Loulou and yes, you're right re Chateaubriant.

I was a professional violinist for thirty odd years but, having fallen in love with the cello, my violins remain unplayed.

I'm playing a little Concertino by Breval at the moment and so really need a good teacher now.

Perhaps if you hear of one, you could let me know.

Have you tried the local school of music? They might have ensembles/orchestra(s) that you could join.
As far as finding a teacher is concerned : you might want to specify wether you'd be able to drive, and how far. I hope you can find someone asap!

I'm having so much fun with this cello!

A very famous link on our forum ! Maybe the 8th time it's posted  but i think the 1st time on the english part ! The cellist who recorded that (Knut Weber, from the orchestra) told me, he recorded the "normal" version in 1 shot, but it was much harder to record the scratched version !!
